ipMonitor Dashboard

Identifying unavailable applications and potential causes for slow service delivery, is essential in a business environment to ensure smooth and speedy operations.  Have you run out of disk space, has the server got enough memory for SQL Server to perform correctly, is the application configured correctly to supply a response within your required time thresholds? ipMonitor can identify scenarios that are going to have a direct impact on the levels of service IT provides the business and with historic analysis allow you to see clearly whether a system has been performing poorly with guidance on potential causes.WMI Monitoring Selection

Using SNMP, WMI, RPC and Synthetic Transactions, ipMonitor can acquire exactly the right information from your networked devices to provide this level of information, clearly and concisely.

SNMP Monitoring

ipMonitor supports two methods for testing and analysing data from SNMP-enabled servers, network devices, and applications:

  • Polling: The SNMP Monitors poll devices, servers and applications on timed intervals to retrieve and analyse specified data.
  • Listening: The SNMP TRAP Monitor listens for incoming traps sent by SNMP agents and analyses the data it receives against specified rules.

WMI and RPC Monitoring

ipMonitor relies on WMI and RPC to deliver advanced monitoring of Windows devices, servers, and applications. Leveraging support for WMI and RPC, ipMonitor provides monitoring for many Microsoft technologies, including:

  • Monitoring the health of SQL servers
  • Monitoring Exchange performance, queue, and RPC counters
  • Ensuring Windows services are running
  • Testing the Kerberos 5 authentication server's ability to serve tickets
  • Scanning security, system, and application event logs
  • Monitoring available drive space on Windows shares
  • Monitoring structure of directories and file properties
  • User Experience Monitors

SNMP Monitoring

ipMonitor’s Quality Assurance Monitors perform synthetic transactions and analyse test results to measure the quality of service experienced by end-users:

  • Out-of-the-Box Transactions: HTTP UE, HTTP Link UE, POP3 UE, IMAP4 UE, MAPI UE, DNS UE, DNS UE, FTP UE, ADO SQL Query UE
  • Measure: Availability, responsiveness, correct functionality for end-users
